Another Earthquake Makes Me Terrified

Is our Earth dying?I have started to feel scared because of another devastating earthquake which occured in Chile. Recently, I re-watched a movie"2012". In the movie, before the disaster which happened on 2012, many places had earthquakes. My point is our situation is so similar to the movie. That's really outrageous. My friend watched the movie too. Once, we made a joke with this movie. I asked him "If 2012 is real, are we wasting our time of studying?" I am not sure of his answer, but we hope it won't happen. This time the magnitude of Chile's earthquake was more serious than Haiti's, but Chile is far less damged than Haiti. I read a new article about it on yahoo news. It says because Chile's buildings and infrastructures are higher standard than Haiti's and Chile has a good preparation. Therefore, one of the article's topic in yahoo is "Chile was ready for earthquake but Haiti wasn't" One of a sentence from yahoo's article that I do not really understand is "Earthquakers don't kill-they don't create damage-if there's nothing to damage." This sentence is refering to Haiti or Chile? No matter what, I hope the victims will be fine!

A good progam

I know I am getting order. My desire is not what I wanted when I was 10 to 17 year olds.I still remember how upbeat I was when a weather reporter said " Today every college, high school and primary will not open because of the horrible weather." "Every student should be better to stay home instead of going out." Now I want my school open, I want to study in my class, and I work more for my future but playing around. Yesterday, I went to P buliding to play basketball with a friend. So on, we did play it happily althought I lost many times. After we played it, we walked around the campus and met a girl who I knew she was from LINCC because I saw her before. She convinced us to join a "Oversea Volunteering". This progam's purpose was peace, faith and health. We could join this progam to explore over 80 countries. We could go to a country and teach and help people. Wanting to explore needed to attended at least three workshops. She also told us she did went to a country which I forgot where it was. She did have an excellent trip and experience. She told us "If you want more information, you can go to our meeting NOW." After she said it, a guy came to us and talked about this progam because he just went to that meeting and he said he would join it. I extremely wanted to join because I liked travel, but I needed more time to think about it for exploring a country was not that simple. Also, my friend said "He doesn't have time at all" , so we said " we can't go". Now I think I should join the progam. It will be a great experience to explore countries, but if I go, I think I will be the country learning stuffs more than teaching or helping people.

My recent class

These days, I don't know what happens to myself. I was late twice in a week and forgot to bring my homework. It is not easy after a week holiday and get back to a school life. During the holiday, I slept at 2a.m. and woke up at 12p.m. My body has already adapted in a holiday style. Also, I just realized my bus's schedule has been changed. That's why I got late. Today, it is my first meeting with my conversation partner. My partner is same age with me and he's glad to meet me. I know my teacher always urges us to go to writing center. In fact, I realize my writing is not as good as before, but this month, I don't have extra time to be there. Later, I will make some breaks to be there. It's really helpful for every student. I had much experience there and I tried many turtors but only one that I like is Professor Hoffman. She always point the advantage of writing a good essay and encourage students to write. I hope students will try to use it.

Movie "Gridiron Gang"

Last night when I felt tired and tried to get a sleep, there was a movie attracted and made me to watch it until 2 o'clock. The movie name is Giridiron Gang. The movie was about teenagers which commited crimes before and they were in juvenile detention center. There was a person, Sean, who was trying to help the teenagers from behaving bad and giving them confident for their lives because after the teenagers came to the detention center, some of their family didn't have a hope for their futures, and their family wanted to gave up their son or daughter. If a teenager doesn't have any support or encouragement when he/she is in the center, I don't think he or she will have a hope for his/her future. Sean was extremely hard to make a football team because he needed permissions from his supervisors. He gave and taught the teenagers trainnings, hope, and morals. So on, he did a great job. I like this movie because it is a true story and it can really tell me the situation when a teenager act wrongly. The main character, Sean, is Dwayne Johnson who attends many movies that I like. For example, Mummy. I will recommend this movie to everyone, although it cosists of volence, but I really like the movie that giving a chance to people who were wrong before. It really encourages people.

Pong's Aunt and Unlce Coming

Tomorrow, 20 Feb 2010, my aunt and unlce will arrive at USA around10 olock. My family and they applied for immigration together. They can't stabilize here yet. There is a lot of problems around them. I still remember last time when they came about half a year before. Every time when they come here, we must get a great of activities to do. For example, we went to Six Flage, a big water park in Long Island. It was my first time to go to water park. However, every time they need to spend much money. Especially for them, China and USa have a link of the money multiplication about $1 HK dollar=7.8 US dollar. If they come here for a week, they might spend over a month of their salaries.

My Experience in My Elementary school (Part2)

As I said in last post, my legs had a serious problem which could cause me to be disable. After one month of the diagnosis from the doctor, I came back for a follow up visit and he didn't even remember what my condition was. He told me the condition of my legs remained the same and he said he didn't have any way to help me. The only way was taking more rests. He adviced " Don't run!" After that time, I started to wonder whether it was true or not. Then, I told myself " I can't be like this! I love sport, basketball. I need to be in touch to it." I've kept playing sport. Sometimes, I still feel the painful from my legs, but I only stop for a while and keep doing my stuff. My ability of sport is not better than the others, but I am ethusiastic in sport. I need to learn more about overcoming difficulty. I don't want to wait for help if I have a problem. Maybe I can know better in the follow up presentation about overcoming obstacle.

Happy Chinese New Year

Today, it's not only Vanlentine's Day. For Chinese people, today also is Chinese new year. Every year, I don't know when is the Chinese new year day because every year is different days, but when the day is, my parent will tell me. According to my reseach, this festival traditionally begins on the first day of the month in the Chinese calendar and ends on 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Normally, during this day, we say good greetings to everyone. For example, " Kung Hei Fat Choy" or "Happy New Year" is the most common one. Another thing that is always related to Chines New year is red envelopes. Adults and young couples put some money in a envelope, and give it to children. The envelope is always red because chinese people traditionally think red can bring poeple luck. My mother told me "In these days, Don't say any word related to death." I still remember when I was in Mainland in my mother's hometown, in the new year day, we played fireworks, which can mean driving away evil spirits. There still have a lot of rules from different towns or different cities, but basically that all what I know about chinese new year.

Living in a Snowing Weather

In fact, this is my first time of not going school because of the snow. I still remember at the first time when I saw snowing. I like the noise when I step into snow, and I like the sight of a fluffy snowman standing next to a path. However, snow often only last for couple days. Then, it wll be freezed to be ice. It always gives people problems for it makes us harder to walk because of the ice covering on a path. It makes drivers riskier because it tiggers accidents arise. People also have to shovel after snowing. It always hurts my back when I shoveling, even though the snow is not heavy. Wow I didn't know this is our obligation to make the path clear. It is easy to get sick during this kind of weather. I think Snowing can give children good memory. Children can play snowball during these few days, but it seems weird to see a 19-year man to throw a snowball to others. The last thing is I want to go to school because I can't study at home. Every time if I stay at home, I only play stuffs but study.

A Tuesday~!

Today I went to class as always. I think I love doing stuffs in the lab. I like when we do our own work by ourselves. I like when we encounter new words and that we can use an online dictionary instead of the regular dictionary. I like when we do different things but we stay in a same room. I like doing the reading assginment which gives me practice. Instead of writing, reading, and listening, I think I need to put an emphasis on speaking. Someone told me my speaking was not very good. People can understand what I say, but it is not accurate. When I noticed it, I didn't know I should appreciate him or I should be unhappy that I am not doing well. Anyway, I should keep working hard during these 13 weeks before getting into college. I am thinking of what I should bring on Friday for the bake sale and I just hope I can be tanquil and pass this level. I don't want to fail the test again.

Movie night " Edge of Darkness "

Last night, my cousin, my cousin's girlfriend,sister, my sister's boyfriend, and I went to Westbury to watch a movie, Edge of Darkness. This movie is pretty famouse because of the main character,Mel Gibson. I have watched a lot of movies about him, like Lethal Weapon 1-4. No doubt he is a great actor. In the movie, Edge of Darkness, I think the beginning is the best part during Craven's(Mel Gibson) daughter comes back to see him to his daughter gets shoot. The movie is about Craven is a detective for Boston Police department. His daughter comes back Boston to vists him. At night, his daughter feels uncomfortable and try to ahead to hospital. When they step out of his house, someone who is driving a car shoots her. She dies in front of her father, Carven. Then, Carven starts to invest this case and he discovers there has a big secret behind her daughter and the secret is related to government operative. I couldn't understand the whole idea of this movie. Maybe it concern too many things about policy. However, if your listening is much better than me, you will enjoy this movie a lot.

My February 5 Odd opinion

"There are no coincidence,but fate, that's including everything that we see, meet, and hear!" I always see and hear this familiar sentence from people talking and even a song. I do not certainly trust on it, but sometimes I have some experience that is tragedy and serial. Sometimes I try to be unswerving or stubborn in my opinion, even though I know that is wrong, and the opinion taggers me to be more unswerving and stubborn. Maybe during that time, I am belligerent. However, in some cases, I easily change my mind or my answer, but finally I realize I shouldn't do it because I was right. This idea comes from my current thought. In my another wried idea, people should focus on our acquaintances because the acquaintances might become to be our one of our importances. This is my February 5 opinion. I use February 5 because in the future I may have different idea.

Can't be on time for my class today

Many people or boss demands their friends or employees that they be punctual for any meeting, class, and work. Today, I was late for my class. I totally dislike the feeling of being late. Since last week, Samuel has picked two friends who are studying in LINCC and me up to college. One of our friend could go to college today, so we were supposed that Samuel, one of our friend and me went together. About 7:30 I met Samuel to the place that we should be met, but today he drove his car into a parking lot because he often stops on a side and let us get into the car or wait for us for couple minutes. Therefore, when I got into the car, the first thing that I did was that I asked him why he parked his car here. He said we needed to wait for our friend.(Because sometimes he doesn't go to college with us, I don't feel strange when I don't see him.) At the same time, I realized he would be so late that's why he parked in the park lot. Samuel kept calling to our friend but he only said he was coming by a bus. Then, Samuel made a big decision to drive to the bus routine that was opposite to NCC direction. We have already been familiar to the bus routine because we often take that. After about 10minutes, our friend got off a stop that was near our position when Samuel and I were in the car. Then, we started to go to college at around 7:45. Samuel was trying to drive quickly to reach NCC when I told the time to him. Finally, we arrived to NCC at 8:04 when my classmates were sitting on chairs and focused their attentions on our teacher. I don't like the feeling of disturbing people when they focused on something. I feel bad to my classmates and Bar (my teacher).
